At Jackson Lees, making a positive difference is at the heart of everything we do. Whether through doing our job as solicitors, or getting out into our local community to provide a helping hand, we are proud to be able to make a positive difference to both the clients we serve, and the wider community we are a part of. Here’s a taste of how we did that in July.

Liverpool Pride March

We were so thrilled to take part in Liverpool Pride once again this year, to celebrate and show up for the LGBTQIA+ community! Pride is an important reminder that there is still work to be done in the fight for equality.

As a local business that fights tirelessly for justice and equality in and around Liverpool, we were honoured to be able to show our support for the community at such an important time. We had a great time at Liverpool Pride and are grateful to have been able to join in and celebrate people being their full and most authentic selves!

We marched through the city centre, which was flooded with rainbows and beautiful displays of self-expression. At Jackson Lees, we understand the importance of representation, community and education in the campaign for LGBTQIA+ rights and take action to strengthen each of these elements within our firm.

One of our paralegals, Shea Carson, wrote a fantastic blog that reiterates why Pride is so important and how we can all use our voices to make a positive difference:

Hoylake Open Golf Championship

The 151st Open Golf Championship was held at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake towards the end of July this year. The Open is one of the most prestigious and historic golf tournaments, attracting thousands of visitors to Hoylake, many for their first time. With the town being so busy, we felt it may be overwhelming for visitors and even some locals to navigate.

To support people in finding their way around Hoylake, we created a pop-up information station outside our Hoylake office. We gave out free water to passers-by, signposted local businesses, offered directions, and provided local information for anyone looking for recommendations.

To assist visitors in getting around, we created a map of Hoylake that included a directory of local businesses, that we handed out throughout the week. We felt this was also a great opportunity to highlight small and local businesses and take pressure of those that may be at capacity too.

When The Open came to an end, 9 employees from Jackson Lees Group volunteered to go litter picking around the streets of Hoylake and the beach to help tidy up the community following such a big event.

We’re so pleased to have had such a busy July supporting such amazing causes and events, and our team are excited to get stuck in in August!
