On the January 14th the Module 4 evidential hearings will begin.
They start, as usual, with the screening of the Impact Video to core participants. After that, the inquiry will hear from Counsel. The hearings then move onto the opening statements of each of the Core Participants. The Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice are up first, and Allison Munroe KC will be making the opening statement on the group's behalf.
You can look at the full hearings timetable here.
Notable speakers:
- On Wednesday (15th) the CP opening statements will conclude and then move on to hearing from witnesses. The first witness is Helena Jean Rossiter, who is giving evidence on behalf of CBFFJ UK. Jean (as she prefers to be known) lost her son Peter when he was just 39 years old. He was a teacher and spent much of his time looking after the children of key workers.
- On Thursday (16th), Matt Hancock will be returning to give evidence again.
- The following Monday (20th), Professor Sir Chris Whitty and Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam will give evidence.
- On Thursday following (23rd), Sajid Javid and Ben Osborn (President International Commercial Office, Pfizer) will give their own evidence.
- On the final Monday (27th), Kemi Badenoch and Nadhim Zahawi will give evidence.
