How can I help you?

As a passionate advocate for civil liberties, I work with individuals and bereaved families during some of the most challenging times of their lives. I specialise in representing clients in inquest proceedings, particularly when the state is involved, including cases related to police, prison, and other state agencies. I also act for individuals bringing complaints and civil claims against the police.

Here are some of the ways I can assist you:

  1. Inquest representation: I have extensive experience representing individuals and families in inquest proceedings. When a loved one has lost their life in circumstances involving state entities such as the police or prisons, I am here to ensure that their rights are upheld, and their voices are heard.

  1. Claims against state agencies, including police and prisons: If you or your loved one have experienced unlawful detention, assault, or any infringement of your rights, I can help you bring claims against the responsible state agencies.

  1. Article 2 (Right to Life): In cases where there has been a breach of Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights (Right to Life), I am committed to holding state agencies accountable and ensuring that every possible measure is taken to prevent such tragedies from recurring.

A little about me

I began my legal career with a mixed practise of both Criminal Defence and in Civil Liberties related work. I have since honed my skills and expertise to specialise in cases where individuals’ rights have been violated by the State.

I joined the renowned team at Broudie Jackson Canter in January 2022, and I am now solely focused on representing families and individuals in bringing complaints and claims against the State, which includes police, prisons and Health Boards.

I am a member of the INQUEST Lawyers Group and Police Action Lawyers Group.
