Did you know that UKVI are replacing physical immigration documents with eVisas which you will access online?
If your BRP card is due to expire on 31 December 2024 but you have leave to remain until later than this or indefinite leave to remain, you will need to take steps to switch an eVisa. This involves setting up a UKVI online account and confirming your ID through the UKVI ID check app on your mobile phone.
You will need to create a UKVI account before the expiry of your BRP, to access your eVisa and share information about your immigration status and conditions, such as your right to work or rent in the UK, using the UKVI ‘View and Prove’ service’.
If you have an old-style paper document confirming your indefinite leave to remain in the UK, you will need to make an application to the Home Office called the NTL (No Time Limit) to replace your paper document with a BRP card, before you can set up your eVisa account.
