Job Title:                      Immigration Trainee caseworker 

Reporting:                    Reports to the Head of Department.

Office Location:               Liverpool (Hybrid)

 

Overall purpose:          Delivering a professional, responsive, high quality service to our clients ensuring full compliance with policies and procedures laid out by the Firm and by regulatory bodies.  To act as an ambassador for the Firm at all times, actively promoting its services. 

About this role:

This is a trainee position with a view to becoming a Law Society level 2 accredited immigration caseworker within 6 months. As an accredited caseworker you will be advising and representing clients in their asylum and immigration cases under legal aid.

Key accountabilities:

  • Work under the supervision of senior members of the immigration team

  • Comply with client care standards and legal aid requirements

  • To continue to train, develop and enhance knowledge and expertise of immigration and asylum law

  • Ensure that files are billed promptly

What do you need: 

  • A legal degree or equivalent legal experience in a legal practice

  • Demonstrable commitment to and passion for a career in immigration law

  • Good communication skills both orally and in writing

  • Excellent organizational and case management skills

  • Ability to work within strict deadlines
