Job Title:                   Medical Analyst (Part time)

Reporting:                  Reports to the Head of Department.

Office Location:        Liverpool (Hybrid)

Working Hours:         15 hours per week, flexible, occasional weekends

 

Overall purpose:      Delivering a professional, responsive, high quality service to our clients ensuring full compliance with policies and procedures laid out by the Firm and by regulatory bodies.  To act as an ambassador for the Firm at all times, actively promoting its services.

Key accountabilities:

  • Studying, sorting, paginating, and indexing medical records, and preparing a chronology of relevant events with careful attention to detail for submission to experts and ultimately Counsel and the Court.
  • Viewing imaging and preparing a schedule of radiological images.
  • Identifying missing records.
  • Providing a report with a summary of key events and background clinical information as required, plus a discussion of the central issues / merits of the claim to the fee earner.
  • If full preparation of records is not required, reviewing medical records in either pdf or paper format and providing a report to the lawyer with a brief timeline of events and a discussion of the potential merits of the claim.
  • Ensuring work is systematically stored within our protected IT work environment.
  • Ensuring that sensitive client information in medical records is dealt with in a careful and appropriate manner and that client confidentiality is maintained.  Attending departmental meetings and monthly team meetings as required.

What do you need:

  • Able to demonstrate very good clinical and medical knowledge - Essential.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Conscientious, self-motivated and able to work independently. 
  • A proficiency with typing and basic IT skills would be an advantage. 
  • Flexible to complete 15 hours of work over the full week, occasional weekends
