With a Statutory Public Inquiry into Covid underway, it is vital that bereaved family members, who have lost loved ones, get the answers they need. If you have lost someone, we encourage you to take the next legal step in our fight for justice. To take part in the Inquiry as a Core Participant, join the Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice group for the right to free legal representation.
How can I help you?
I am an Associate Director and Solicitor in the Major Inquests and Inquiries Department, specialising in mass casualty fatalities. I am currently a lead solicitor on the Covid Inquiry, representing the Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice group as they seek justice for the loss of their loved ones. Previously I have represented bereaved families in the Birmingham Pub Bombings Inquests, the Manchester Arena Inquiry, and the Hillsborough Inquests.
A little about me
During my years working in criminal defence, I saw the uneven playing field people encounter and the injustice this causes. I was involved in the Milly Dowler case and was instrumental in securing disclosure of highly relevant documents that the defence had previously been denied access to. Ensuring all parties have equal access to evidence is one of the many reasons I wanted to work on the Hillsborough Inquests after learning that this was something that had previously been denied to the bereaved families. Justice can only be obtained when all parties have access to the truth.
My experience
I qualified as a barrister in 2005 and immediately started working in criminal defence specialising in Serious and Complex Cases. I cross qualified as a solicitor in 2011. I joined Broudie Jackson Canter in May 2013 in order to work on the Hillsborough inquests where I headed the Pathology team, analysing all post-mortem reports and medical records and considering the prospects of survival.
