This week, the Jackson Lees Training Academy focused on constructive conversations. Knowing that you have to have a difficult conversation with someone, either at work or in our personal lives, can be quite daunting and the workshop aimed to empower our people by talking about the benefits of constructive conversations, and how best to approach them.

The workshops were led by our COO, Joanna Kingston-Davies, and were held at two of our offices.  It was great to see faces from different departments in the business come together to share their experiences.

This workshop, and the academy generally, is a part of our ongoing commitment to employee engagement. We want to encourage an environment where our people feel comfortable in having open and honest conversations with each other.

We asked some attendees about the session and they had this to say:

Joanna Kingston-Davies, Chief Operating Officer:

It was fantastic to see so many people from a variety of different departments and roles at the ‘constructive conversations’ workshop on Tuesday.  Our people get really animated when they share ideas and best practice with colleagues they don’t necessarily see every day.  It really engenders a great team spirit and we learn so much from each other!”

Esther Leach, Managing Director of Broudie Jackson Canter and Head of Crime:

“This course was brilliant! It demonstrated brilliantly how to handle those challenging and dreaded conversations with a measured and calm approach.”

Ian Townley, Director and Head of Costs:

“This is something I’ve found tricky to deal with for a long time, the session was extremely informative and I’d encourage others to take part in the course”
