On 19th March, the UK Covid-19 Inquiry launched its seventh investigation: Test, Trace and Isolate across the UK (Module 7). Public hearings are scheduled for Summer 2025.

Module 7 will examine testing, tracing, and isolation approaches in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland from January 2020 to February 2022. It will review policies and strategies by the UK Government and Devolved Administrations, decisions made by key bodies, alternative options or technologies available, and factors affecting public compliance.

The provisional scope for Module 7 is available on the Inquiry website.

Preliminary hearings for Module 7 are expected to begin in Summer 2024 at Dorland House, London. All hearings are open to the public.

At preliminary hearings, the Inquiry Chair decides how investigations will proceed. These hearings do not involve presenting evidence but include submissions from Counsel to the Inquiry and Core Participants to prepare for public hearings where evidence will be heard.
