I am currently engaged in the Covid-19 Statutory Public Inquiry where I have served as the lead solicitor on Module 1, 3 and 6 which focussed on the Impact of Covid-19 on the Care Sector. Furthermore, I am actively working with DES Justice UK, a campaign group fighting for Accountability, Awareness and Screening for the toxic drug they were exposed to. In 2026 I will be preparing to work on the Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs.
A little about me
I began my career in law firms as a teenager and owe my development to numerous exceptional mentors who inspired my journey. I am deeply committed to access to justice and have devoted my legal career to advocating for those who need it most.
My pro bono work includes assisting campaign groups in their initial stages and offering guidance where necessary. I volunteer at Liverpool John Moores University Legal Advice Centre, collaborating with Liverpool Advocates for Windrush, where I support victims in navigating the complexities of the compensation scheme.
Additionally, I am an active participant in the Hillsborough Law Now Campaign, advocating for delivery of a Duty of Candour and parity of funding within the Public Office (Accountability) Bill. My collaboration with the Centre for People’s Justice aims to foster a lasting legacy of candour, ethics, and culture change.
I serve on the of the University of Liverpool Law School Advisory Board and participate in their Professional Mentoring Scheme and Judicial Outreach programme. I am incredibly passionate about nurturing the next generation of Lawyers and promoting social mobility.
I am also a Council member for JUSTICE, a law reform charity focussed on strengthening the rule of law, protecting human rights, and ensuring fair legal systems are accessible to all. JUSTICE has a legacy of effecting positive change, and I am dedicated to advocating for their mission.
Outside of my professional commitments, I am a full time voluntary on call Crew member for the RNLI and the recipient of Cheshire Women of the Year 2024 Team Award for Services to the Community.
My experience
With over 21 years of experience as a Solicitor, I initially specialised in very high cost cases (VHCC) and serious crime. I was one of the founding members of Women In Criminal Law Northern Division and served as a Duty Solicitor on the Liverpool panel.
