House prices are one of the most annoying aspects of modern life according to a recent poll of the 50 top gripes.

It does appear to be a constant theme of conversation although most of us have no way of influencing this in a similar way to our other favourite subject, the weather.  Clearly it is important to us and creates media interest as a result.

What is interesting to me as a conveyancer is how despite this constant ebb and flow of pricing and the challenges that throws at those looking to take the first step onto the housing ladder, we do not let it stand in our way.

There are many ways to satisfy the craving for those looking to become home owners.

Whether that be by way of traditional house buying by way of a mortgage from a high street bank dealing with their increased lending criteria, using a ‘gifted deposit’ from a family member who is releasing money from their own property, using the government help to buy scheme or shared ownership schemes offered by many housing associations. The opportunities are there and research shows we are using them to successfully buy our homes.

With this more involved and challenging approach to home buying and moving brings the need for innovative, approachable and forward thinking conveyancers with systems designed to support your move and keep you fully informed throughout the transaction.

In the same way as we rarely leave the house without our umbrella in this country, it is important when embarking on one of the biggest investment most of us make to be prepared, chose a strong team of professionals to support you to achieve your goal.
