Training Contracts
If you’d like the opportunity to be considered for a Training Contract with the Group, securing a Paralegal role should be your first step to work in practice and gain experience with us.
Those applying for Training Contracts work for the Group in Paralegal roles or other support function roles (for example, Secretarial or Front of House), all of which provide an excellent foundation knowledge and practical experience of the role of an expert in practice.
Trainee Solicitors
We’re committed to developing our people to support them to be the best they can be and to achieve their career aspirations and goals. As part of our ongoing commitment to the personal development of our people, we always select Trainee Solicitors from within and we usually implement several Training Contracts each year.
Whilst the LPC is being phased out, we are still running training contracts whilst current LPCs are still valid. In addition to running training contract applications, we also have opportunities for other routes to qualification including Graduate Apprenticeship Scheme (SQE) and CILEX CPQ. We run yearly intakes for our qualification routes, and all of our applications are internal only.
Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE)
Following the introduction of the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) in 2021, we will communicate at the appropriate time on how the Group proposes to ensure equal opportunities for this who continue to opt to take the SQE in place of the LPC.
The Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) is the new centralised way to qualify as a solicitor and at Jackson Lees Group we’re offering this through the Graduate Apprenticeship Scheme. The Graduate Apprenticeship Scheme is available with any degree, but if you have a non-legal degree you will also need to complete the Preparation module as part of the course. Our apprenticeship scheme is open to anyone in a legal role within the Jackson Lees Group.
CILEX
CILEX is also changing the way you can become a qualified CILEX lawyer. The previous legacy courses are being replaced with the CPQ, which once completed will mean you have your own practicing rights The setup looks a little bit different from the legacy course, but it’s a great route for becoming a qualified lawyer and you can enter at different stages depending on your background including Foundation without a degree. CILEX is available to everyone in the Jackson Lees Group.
If you would like to know more about our application process, all vacancies within the group are advertised on our careers page, together with details on how to apply.
