Start-up visas are similar to Innovator visas but are designed at a lower level for those with less business experience. An applicant still requires approval by an endorsing body approved by the Home Office, but this can also include a number of Universities and other higher education providers, making this an ideal option for students.
The following must be shown:
- That you have a written endorsement from an approved body. A credible business plan that shows innovation must be provided. They will be responsible for updating the Home Office on the progress of your business at regular intervals. There is no requirement to show a particular level of funding but maintenance must be shown.
- A sufficient level of English.
Start-up visas are only valid for two years and do not lead to settlement. Following this period of leave, the intention is that applicants will move into the Innovator category and continue their business ideas.
