Innovator visas are a new route, designed to replace the old ‘entrepreneur’ visa. They are designed for those with proven business experiences and ideas to allow them to develop credible, scalable businesses in the UK. They must get approval from a licensed Home Office governing body who can provide official endorsement for their plans.

The following must be shown:

• That you have a written endorsement from an approved body. They will have met with you and reviewed your plans and finances to see how viable and innovative they are. They will be responsible for updating the Home Office on the progress of your business at regular intervals once you’re in the UK
• Access to £50,000 in funding
• A sufficient level of English

When seeking to settle in the UK, Innovators must meet several criteria from a detailed list, showing how their business has become a market leader, increased its turnover or created numerous jobs.
